TalentBridge is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing and a preference for experience in the automotive industry. This role involves optimizing processes, improving operational efficiency, and supporting cost reduction initiatives through the application of industrial engineering principles.
Job Functions
- Develop and maintain work standards for direct labor and machine cycle times to support manufacturing performance benchmarks.
- Conduct time studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis to optimize production efficiency.
- Perform operational studies to maximize workflow and spatial utilization in manufacturing environments.
- Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives using lean manufacturing techniques and industrial engineering tools.
- Conduct work sampling studies for indirect labor to optimize resource allocation and minimize manufacturing costs.
- Perform capacity analysis and related studies to support both short- and long-term manufacturing planning.
- Independently research, test, gather data, measure processes, and conduct engineering analyses in diverse environments, including offices, laboratories, and production floors.
- Compile and analyze data for team or project reviews and provide actionable insights.
- Design, test, and analyze processes in compliance with IATF and ISO standards.
- Ensure customer requirements are met through meticulous planning and execution.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain accurate metrics for direct labor and machinery to benchmark and enhance performance.
- Perform studies and propose adjustments to improve workflow, reduce costs, and maximize spatial efficiency.
- Participate in projects aimed at waste reduction, efficiency enhancement, and cost minimization.
- Utilize engineering tools to provide insights into manufacturing capacity and resource planning.
- Conduct moderately complex assignments independently, leveraging advanced industrial engineering methodologies.
- Compile data and deliver meaningful recommendations for operational improvements.
- Ensure all activities align with IATF and ISO standards, as well as company and customer expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is required.
- Experience or internship in engineering, automotive, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Proficiency in standard industrial engineering techniques, including time studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Project, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with IATF and ISO procedures is highly desirable.
