Key Duties:
- Lead engineering activities for the design and analysis of offshore fixed and floating structures, including jackets, topsides, Spars, TLPs, Semi-Submersibles, and FPSOs.
- Perform and review global and local finite element analyses (strength and fatigue) using tools such as ANSYS, SACS, and ABAQUS.
- Review and approve structural calculations, technical reports, and design drawings.
- Develop design basis documentation and ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Manage and mentor junior engineering staff, delegating tasks and supervising their execution.
- Serve as Engineering Manager for multi-discipline projects, overseeing design basis, schedules, budgets, and interfaces.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Provide technical expertise for international travel, fabrication yards, and offshore installations when needed.
General Responsibilities:
- Deliver projects safely, efficiently, and profitably while meeting client and company expectations.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, security, and environmental policies.
- Participate in operational and design reviews as required.
- Maintain updated project schedules and assist in project delivery.
- Approve drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
- 10–15 years of industry experience.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure preferred. (Louisiana)
- Extensive experience in the structural design and analysis of offshore platforms for pre-service and in-service conditions.
- Advanced skills in Finite Element software such as SACS and ANSYS; experience with ABAQUS preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of ABS, DNV, API, and related industry standards.
- Experience with offshore wind platforms and marine contractor projects is an asset.
