Job Description:
Our client seeks an experienced Electrical Designer to lead and support the creation and maintenance of detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD. The role involves managing projects of varying sizes and complexity, working independently or within multidisciplinary teams, and collaborating with Project Managers, Design Engineers, and other drafting professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate, complete drawings using practical design knowledge.
- Coordinate with disciplines to ensure quality deliverables.
- Conduct field investigations, create detailed sketches, and produce field reports.
- Stay current on design processes, drafting techniques, and standards.
- Recommend improvements to design standards for cost efficiency and quality.
- Resolve unique design and field engineering problems.
- Provide technical guidance to coworkers and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure alignment across disciplines for 3D CAD models and deliverables.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews and prepare drawing packages (IFA, IFB, IFC).
- Assist in project cost estimation and deliverable planning for business development.
- Use document management systems (e.g., Blue Cielo Meridian or equivalent).
- Work on as-built and construction projects simultaneously as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of electrical design experience in refinery, plant, or terminal facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Windows operating systems.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley ControlLogix 1756 and Ethernet IP protocol is a plus.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based work with occasional field visits.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Some overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
