Position Title: Senior Contract Specialist (Strategic Sourcing)
Duration: 18 Months (Assignment may be extended)
Location: Hybrid (Irvine or Los Angeles, CA) or Fully Remote (US-Based)
Pay Rate: $50.00-$65.00/hour
General Description
The Senior Contract Specialist provides support to the Strategic Sourcing department, serving the Client at an enterprise level. The department collaborates with internal customers and colleagues to understand business requirements and fulfill needs, primarily in information technology and professional services . The focus of this role includes administering, managing, and negotiating complex or high-value engagements related to:
- Infrastructure
- Cloud services
- Networking
- Tech labor
- Global asset management delivery services
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the business to define negotiation objectives, such as additional services, optimal value, and favorable contract terms.
- Develop, scope, construct, issue, and coordinate Requests for Information (RFI), Quotations (RFQ), and Proposals (RFP) based on business requirements.
- Create negotiation strategies and lead negotiations for complex contract provisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter advisors to safeguard company interests during negotiations.
- Evaluate and manage vendor responses to RFX processes, providing analysis and recommendations to business units.
- Work closely with Legal, Insurance, and Risk teams to develop complex contracts for sourcing engagements or projects.
- Ensure contract terms align with business requirements, assisting stakeholders in understanding contractual implications.
- Develop vendor strategies, including spend analysis, vendor research, benchmarking, and risk mitigation.
- Effectively manage relationships with stakeholders (including senior leadership), colleagues (e.g., IT, Legal, Risk), and suppliers to deliver exceptional results and value.
- Adapt to ambiguity and change while maintaining a collaborative approach in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage individual project timelines and ensure completion of projects with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to conduct complex project meetings and influence outcomes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-6 years of advanced contracting and sourcing experience with expertise in strategic and tactical procurement principles and practices.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, delivering high-quality results.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
