The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and executing all payroll-related activities within the company. This role ensures accurate and timely payment to employees, compliance with tax regulations, and effective administration of benefits. The Payroll Specialist will also handle time and attendance tracking, reporting, and provide support for HR functions.
Responsibilities:
- Accurate and Timely Payments: Ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time.
- Tax Compliance: Managing tax filings and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Tracking Hours: Monitoring employee hours, overtime, and attendance.
- Enrollment and Management: Handling employee benefits enrollment and changes.
- Generating Reports: Creating various payroll reports for management and compliance purposes.
- Data Analysis: Using reporting tools to analyze payroll data and identify trends or discrepancies
- Tracking Leave: Managing employee leave balances and ensuring accurate recording of time off.
- Employee Queries: Addressing employee questions related to payroll, benefits, and time off.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least 2 years’ experience in participating and/or performing payroll operations.
- Intermediate knowledge of applicable payroll laws, rules, and regulations, including those related to garnishments.
- Basic knowledge of human resource and labor laws, rules and regulations and the company's related policies, procedures, and practices.
- Effective social skills to deal with employees on matters of a confidential or sensitive nature with discretion.
