This is a collaborative group that values innovation and technical excellence, and they are looking to add a Senior Mechanical Engineer to their team. In this role, you are coming in as a project manager responsible for overseeing mechanical design activities for projects.
This person will step in to a vital role in this organization by mentoring and sharing their technical expertise with team members, leading in the advancement of sustainable electrical engineering solutions, and fostering the advancement of those skills among existing team members.
Responsibilities:
As a leader in the firm, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the team effort by utilizing their skills to complete the following:
- Coordinate with the client and the entire design team, including owners, architects, contractors, and internal team to ensure a fully coordinated design.
- Develop, track, and maintain project schedules to ensure deliverables are completed to ensure client expectations are met.
- Manage and complete projects of varying scale with limited assistance from senior management.
- Act as prime correspondent with equipment vendors and manufacturers’ representatives for selection and specification of appropriate equipment.
- Oversee client updates of major project changes or milestones reached by using knowledge of day-to-day project operations.
- Lead client meetings and hearings.
Using your technical engineering skills, you will also:
- Supervise engineering, feasibility, and economic studies, and the preparation reports on findings.
- Review mechanical engineering calculations, such as HVAC load calculations, duct/pipe sizing, and other calculations required for mechanical design.
- Develop and review high-quality MEP documents including drawings, specifications, and technical reports for increasingly complex, and ensure coordination with all disciplines.
- Review mechanical (HVAC and Piping) plans including all associated BMS controls, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, installation details, and specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university.
- 8+ years of experience working at an MEP firm or related industry.
- Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
- Expert knowledge of mechanical systems, documentation, specifications, and construction.
- Able to obtain federal security clearance as required.
