• Assessing special nutritional needs of geriatric and physically impaired persons.
• Developing therapeutic diets.
• Developing regular diets to meet the specialized needs of geriatric and physically impaired persons.
• Monitoring resident weights and providing report to nursing personnel and Nursing Home Administrator.
• Participation in developing and implementing continuing education programs for dietary services and nursing personnel
• Participation in interdisciplinary care planning.
• Routine consultations with the Director of Food Service.
• Participation in the Delaware Veterans Home Quality Assurance Program through auditing, reporting and making recommendations on process improvement.
• Coverage for certified Dietary Manager will be required during an extended leave or vacancy.
Requirements
• Registry of Dietitian of state Delaware.
