Key Responsibilities
- As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing cutting-edge chemical process and storage systems. Your day-to-day activities will include: Designing process cycles, simulations, and heat and material balances.
- Developing and managing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Preparing process and rotating machinery equipment data sheets as well as equipment/utility lists.
- Performing process system calculations, including vessel sizing, line sizing, hydraulic evaluations, and sizing for control and relief valves.
- Creating process descriptions to support new project proposals.
- Participating in HAZOPs (Hazards & Operability Analysis).
- Collaborating with the Process Controls team to develop Control Narratives and Cause & Effect Diagrams.
- Assisting in the preparation of commissioning, start-up, and operating manuals for plant systems.
- Supporting plant start-ups, troubleshooting, and conducting performance tests.
- Contributing to process engineering work process improvements and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 8+ years of hands-on process engineering experience, ideally within the cryogenic industry.
- Expertise in cryogenic process technologies such as hydrogen liquefaction, helium processing and liquefaction, natural gas liquefaction, or air separation.
- Fundamental knowledge of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
- Experience with start-up and commissioning efforts in cryogenic plant environments.
- Preferred Skills: Proficiency in process simulation software such as ASPEN, HYSYS, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of engineering codes applicable to pressure vessel systems.
