Episcope is now looking for an experienced, passionate General Manager to lead our newest Chicago location, DJ’s Great Room.
Located at the base of 920 North Wells, DJ’s Great Room sits at the intersection of the River North, Old Town, and Gold Coast neighborhoods of Chicago. Upon entering DJ's, The Anteroom boasts an expansive bar and stunning design. Continue to find the Great Room, a space conducive for entertaining friends, meeting coworkers, or dining with family. DJ’s Great Room is what a neighborhood eatery should be, the best room in the house.
Summary of Position:
Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time, they will want to return again and again.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Take beverage orders from guests and servers
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
- Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.
- Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
- Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable).
- Wash and sterilize glassware.
- Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons.
- Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient
- drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
- Clear and reset tables in bar area.
- Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and
- storage areas.
- Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
- Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or above
- Must have PM shift availability
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Must have positive attitude and eagerness to be team player.
- Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point of sale system.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently with heavy weight.
- Food Handlers Certification.
- Bassett Certification
