SUMMARY
Seeking an experienced underwriting professional to evaluate, underwrite, and manage D&O, Fiduciary, and Professional Liability policies, specifically within the power, utility, and energy sectors. This role requires a strong understanding of Management Liability risks, particularly D&O coverage, with a focus on assessing risk, structuring policies, and maintaining key broker and client relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess and underwrite insurance risks for various entities, including private, public, and non-profits.
- Review submissions, financials, and key risk factors to determine appropriate coverage, pricing, and terms.
- Work closely with brokers and clients to negotiate policy conditions and premiums.
- Provide expert insight on complex risk exposures and coverage solutions.
- Maintain a profitable underwriting portfolio in alignment with company objectives.
- Analyze market trends and emerging risks to refine underwriting strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as claims and risk management, to ensure sound policy handling.
- Cultivate and strengthen broker and client relationships to drive business growth and retention.
- Support junior underwriters by sharing expertise and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 8 years of experience underwriting Management Liability risks.
- Proven success in handling complex accounts with a focus on profitability and risk management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Professional designations (CPCU, RPLU, etc.) and relevant licenses (P&C, Surplus Lines) are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of management liability insurance, corporate governance, and regulatory issues.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in underwriting software, Microsoft Office, and industry tools.
