Position Overview: We seek a detail-oriented, experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural construction estimating, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to produce accurate cost estimates for divisions 3, 4, 5, and 6. This role is critical to our project planning and execution, ensuring we provide competitive and realistic bids to our clients.
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates using specialized on-screen take-off software designed specifically for us. This position allows for remote work and on-site presence, offering flexibility while ensuring close collaboration with team members and project stakeholders. If you have a passion for construction, we will train you how to be an estimator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for shell construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other expenses for the structural phases of the largest, most complex residential projects in Florida.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with contractors to understand project scope and requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
- Review and assess cost estimates submitted by subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare and present Excel cost reports and proposals
- Participate in project bid meetings and site visits
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the structural phases of construction (concrete, CMU, structural steel, deck systems, rough carpentry)
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs
- Proficiency in on-screen estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and under deadline pressure
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
