The ideal Energy & Sustainability Project Manager candidate is someone with deep project management experience in the energy efficiency, sustainability, or environmental sectors. Bonus points if you've worked on behalf of cities/states or understand energy benchmarking and building performance standards.
Responsibilities
Program Design and Project Management
- Work with a portfolio of building owners that serve and/or house climate vulnerable communities on behalf of a key government/city client. Support includes energy benchmarking, energy audit review, and project planning of building energy- efficiency upgrades.
- Assist building owners in securing applicable rebates and incentives related to energy efficiency improvements, and facilitating financial support for energy - efficiency upgrades.
- Develop and document comprehensive project processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance across all project activities.
- Support the implementation of energy-efficientcy upgrades providing assistance connecting with building owners with qualified contractors, reviewing bids, and selecting a contractor.
- Develop and maintain a database of rebates and incentives relative to building energy - efficiency upgrades.
- Coordinate energy audit scheduling, providers, budgets providers, and timelines.
- Understand client database needs and collaborate closely with the software development team to prioritize the design and deployment of feature enhancements and the resolution of bugs.
- Lead all aspects of program project management including setting agendas, running project meetings, adhering to project schedules, compiling reports, etc.
- Develop and present client deliverables, including but not limited to, program and training materials, communication plans, reports, and public documents. Ensure they are accurate and high-quality.
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities across multiple projects.
- Generate and analyze various program or customer statistic reports using Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, internal Touchstone IQ tools, and other related software.
- Be proactive and exercise initiative in identifying, tracking, and escalating impediments to project success.
Team Oversight
- Hire, train, and support oversight of Energy & Sustainability Specialists who provide phone, email, and virtual support to building owners and managers who are tasked with complying with building benchmarking and performance standards programs.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Energy & Sustainability Specialists by fostering a positive team environment and providing direction in ambiguous situations.
Customer Success
- Manage and oversee the help center operations for a key government energy benchmarking and building performance standard program on behalf of Touchstone IQ products.
- Meet contractual obligations for our client(s), including but not limited to turnaround time on all correspondences, +90% compliance rates, reporting, and outreach commitments.
- Achieve superior client satisfaction and retention rates.
- Elevate opportunities to enhance the customer service experience with a focus on continual team improvement.
Company Support
- Provide ad hoc support for corporate initiatives. These include – but are not limited to – gathering data and documenting processes, supporting business development, compiling industry and competitive research, creating marketing content, providing software improvement recommendations and conducting quality assurance testing, and conducting potential customer outreach.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and news, sharing this internally and with clients as appropriate.
Qualifications/Competencies/Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the energy/sustainability/environmental sciences sector.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to actively listen, proactively problem solve, and be highly responsive to the needs of our multi-functional internal team and all customers with whom you interact.
- An ability to represent the company with a high degree of professionalism.
- A demonstrated ability to operate and educate others on robust CRM tools and technology platforms.
- Deep knowledge of all client programs and Touchstone IQ products.
- Good judgment and use of analytical skills in ambiguous situations.
- Outstanding attention to detail combined with the ability to see the big picture.
- An ability to prioritize and manage time effectively across multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Understanding client contracts, scopes of work, and deliverables to enable responsible time tracking and project prioritization.
- A strong understanding of enacted energy policy, energy concepts, and the ability to educate others in a practical and technical manner.

Benefits
Compensation for Program Managers and Project Manager is dependent on experience with a base salary ranging from $65,000-$115,000 based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include healthcare and dental insurance, parental leave, a Denver RTD EcoPass, a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office; 2 days at home), paid holidays, vacation and sick days as well as a matching 401k package.
