Job Title: Mechanical Drafter
Location: Rapid City, South Dakota
Details: 12-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire and advancement
Pay Rate: $20.00 – 23.00/hr. based on benefit inclusions
Master's candidates will be considered overqualified
Job Summary: Candidates will be responsible for creating Building Information Models (BIM) for various electric power gensets in accordance with the latest BIM modeling standards. They will work closely with the project team leader to review project timelines, scope changes, and priorities. Collaboration with peers to troubleshoot issues with existing BIM models and completing projects in a timely manner to meet customer due dates and the team lead's project schedule is essential. Candidates must communicate any delays or issues encountered during a project to the team lead to keep the project schedule up to date.
Job Responsibilities:
Work with the project team leader daily to review project scope, status, and deadlines.
Research target industry products to identify all performance data required to create requested BIM models.
Use the latest BIM modeling practices to develop BIM models of target industry products.
Interface with project engineers to address any questions pertaining to project scope requirements.
Complete projects in a timely manner in alignment with project engineer’s expectations.

Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
Novice level experience with parametric 3D modeling and drafting software (i.e., AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Creo).
Education and Experience:
2-year technical school degree in a computer-aided drafting program or 2+ years equivalent experience.
Skills Desired:
Experience with Autodesk Revit.
Experience with BIM modeling using Autodesk Revit.
Microsoft Excel experience (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables).
Prior mechanical drafting experience (preferably for equipment-based mechanical components) is desirable.
Experience with 3D parametric drafting/modeling software (e.g., PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) is desirable.
Experience with lifecycle management tools is a plus
Proficiency in the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing on drawings
AutoCAD and / or 3DS Max experience is a plus
Ability to work within a team or independently.
Strong communication skills will be required
