Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our team at Arrow in Melville, NY. As a Contract Engineer, you will be responsible for developing firmware for embedded systems, collaborating with the customer and offshore teams, and working in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux application development, firmware for home automation products, and a strong background in embedded systems.


Key Responsibilities :

  • Firmware Development : Develop and maintain embedded firmware for home automation, intrusion, and fire safety products, primarily in Linux-based environments (Yocto, IPC, Thread, etc.).
  • Collaboration : Work closely with customers to understand product requirements, create documentation, and ensure project goals are met. Coordinate with offshore development teams to ensure smooth delivery.
  • System Architecture & Design : Participate in product architecture design, ensuring high-quality implementation and documentation.
  • Code Reviews : Review code for quality, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
  • Hardware Bring-up & Porting : Work on hardware bring-up and porting for various embedded platforms like STM32MP131 Cortex A7.
  • Agile/Scrum : Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and assisting the offshore team with tasks.


Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Embedded Firmware Development : Strong experience in embedded systems, including firmware development for Linux-based products.
  • Crank Storyboard GUI : Must have experience with the Crank Storyboard GUI framework.
  • Protocols : Knowledge of WiFi, Zigbee, ZWave, MQTT, and Matter 1.4.
  • C Programming : Strong proficiency in C for embedded firmware development.
  • Platform Knowledge : Experience with STM32MP131 Cortex A7.
  • Documentation : Experience with writing and reviewing product requirement documents, software documentation (architecture, interfaces, and detailed design).
  • Agile/Scrum Experience : Ability to work in an Agile environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Education : Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.


Preferred Skills :

  • Experience in the Intrusion , Fire Safety , or Home Automation product domains.
  • Familiarity with Home Security Product Firmware .


Working Environment :

  • Location : 100 Baylis Rd, Suite 200, Melville, NY 11747, USA.
  • Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week, 5 days a week.
