Job Description
•Both physicians and CRNAs push meds.
•CRNAs place regionals only if comfortable - only epidural and spinals
•CRNAs work 4 days a week. No overnight call or weekends. Late days are on Tuesday and Thursdays
•245 licensed beds
•7 to 8 OR's running daily
•4,800 annual cases
•Cases include BB - Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, Endo, Urology, Outpatient, rare heads, plastics, podiatry, doing more ENT, and a few thoracic case come through occasionally, ultrasound guided blocks
•No hearts, trauma, OB or PEDs
•There is one neurosurgeon requesting MD only
•Physician Call
•1st call working longer days as cases are being scheduled later in the afternoon
•Physicians have 1:5 beeper call; 10% call back at night. Not much going on after 10 pm/11 pm (1:4 call for 32 weeks of the year due to PTO).
•Weekend call for physicians is Friday 7am - Monday 7am.
•100% medically directing CRNA's (10% hands on for physicians-2 neuro surgeons require MD only)
•All anesthetics provided at one location
•Both physicians and CRNAs push meds.
•Flu Shot: Not required, TB: Yes, ACLS: Yes, BLS: Yes, PALS: No
