Occupational Therapist
Location : St.Louis, MO
Pay Rate: $43.85 / hour
Positions: 1
Position Type: Contract for 2024-2025 school year and beyond
Start Date: 8/19/2024
Company Overview: Our client is a residential school with approximately 45+ students aged 6 - 21 years old. Therapists are scheduled through the normal school year and is looking for a candidate for a long-term placement.
Position Summary: The successful candidate will possess a current license to practice occupational therapy and has experience working with people from age of 6 to 21.
Responsibilities:
  • Examines the condition of patients and analyzing their needs.
  • Plans treatment and providing it to the respective patient.
  • Keeps track of students' medical condition.
  • Reviews progress and upgrading the prescribed treatment as per the requirement.
  • Educates the patients' family and employer about their needs and how to provide adequate medical care to them.
  • Provides customized services as per different disabilities of the patients.
  • Examines the home and workplace of the patients, and makes potential changes as per the health requirement of their client.
  • Installs the required equipment in the classroom to help children with disabilities, and provides guidance on how to use the special equipment.
  • Takes exercise sessions for pain relief exercises.
  • Helps people to return to work.
  • Programs the aspirants of an occupational therapist and supervising their work.
  • Organizes rehabilitation groups for the clients and carers.
  • Prepares reports and attending multidisciplinary case meeting to decide and review the continuing treatment.
  • Helps children participate in school activities.
  • Takes sessions on time management, anxiety management tricks and techniques.
  • Performs administrative tasks like making phone calls, maintaining records and case notes.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist for the State of Missouri.
  • CPR certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience with children, young adults, and children with special needs.
