Seeking attorney's with varying degrees of litigation experience in defense work (construction, premises, products liability and general liability cases) looking in Buffalo, NY and Syracuse, NY.
- The attorney will join a thriving team and manage their own cases from day to day with collaboration and availability from Team Leaders.
- The attorney will report to clients and carriers, appear in Court for conferences and motions, comply with discovery, take and defend depositions, coordinate medical examinations and prepare and file motions.
- The team also handles premises liability cases
- Perform duties encompassing all aspects of insurance defense, including initial investigation and legal analysis and advice, preparing and filing legal pleadings and documents, performing legal research
- Preparing for and conducting pre-trial discovery, preparing for and aggressively handling hearings and trials and conducting post-trial activities where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Substantive experience handling cases that deal with Labor Law Sections 240(1) and 241(6) as well as contractual indemnification issues between the parties.
- Strong Labor Law deposition experience a must.
- New York Bar required and New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania Bars a plus.
- Trial experience a plus.
