Overview:

The Post Professional Physical Therapy program within in the Physical Therapy Department at Touro University, School of Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Director of Residency Clinical Education in the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program, with faculty responsibilities in the Post Professional DPT program. This is a part time position.

• Clinical mentorship of the Orthopedic Residents both in a didactic environment and their clinical work environment
• Course instructor for Clinical Mentorship courses - Course instructor for Clinical Residency courses - Mentoring the clinical mentors
• Scheduling clinical experiences, visiting clinical sites, supervision of residents throughout their clinical residencies including utilization of the ABPTRFE RCI system for grading and tracking of resident experiences and progress
• Recruiting practice sites and mentors
• Coordination of Post Professional DPT program Clinical Reflection courses and Professional Service course
• Interviewing prospective students and participating in the admissions process
• Attending information sessions and open houses
• Participation in departmental meetings

Education/ Experience

• Doctor of Physical Therapy required.
• American Board of Physical Therapy Specialty in orthopedics or completion of orthopedic residency is required
• Must be licensed to practice Physical Therapy in at least one state within the United States.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

• A high degree of interpersonal competency: professionalism, diplomacy, judgement and discretion required
• Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Adobe Connect.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty and colleagues.

Travel

• Travel to Clinical Mentorship sites and resident's work site as necessary
