Job Description

Hino Motors Manufacturing is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.


We are currently seeking an EHS Manager located in Marion, AR reporting directly to the VP, HR & Administration. This individual will be responsible for providing strategic direction to the site and company leadership on Environmental Safety and Health issues and driving the safety culture of the location. The EHS Manager will provide technical and regulatory expertise to ensure environmental compliance, safe work practices and continuous improvement of EHS programs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety awareness, accident prevention and Team Member involvement in environmental and safety programs.
  • Devise, supervise, and coordinate training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness – ensuring employee understanding.
  • Make recommendations on best safety practices, and audit locations adherence to those practices.
  • Consult with departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety program.
  • Make studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health
  • Formulate safety policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Audit facilities and offices to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards.
  • Communicate corrective or preventative measures required to appropriate management.
  • Continually monitor compliance issues such as MSDS files, OSHA reporting, etc.
  • Conduct site audits, evaluate plant's compliance with safety and environmental regulations identify areas of improvements.
  • Participate in accident investigation and prepare material and evidence for company use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigation.
  • Compile and submit all accident reports required by regulatory agencies, as well as internal reports.
  • Drive incident/accident free workplace initiative through education, coaching and other initiatives.
  • Lead the environmental, health and safety initiatives in support of the business requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations.
  • Implement environmental solutions and drive changes in manufacturing processes / systems that lead to reduction in environmental waste streams.
  • Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on key governmental regulations pertaining to environment, health and safety.


Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS or equivalent.
  • 5 or more years of safety-related experience.
  • OSHA certified.
  • Experience working with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA & EPCRA permits and reporting, regulatory training and ISO-14001.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification Preferred.
