We are looking for an EHS Specialist with expertise in Chemical Management.

Position Overview:


The Chemical Management Specialist will focus on enhancing chemical safety practices, ensuring compliance with HazCom standards, and addressing deficiencies in compressed gas management. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role will execute assigned tasks to update chemical safety systems and improve hazard communication across the site. Chemical Inventory Management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement chemical inventory systems, ensuring all hazardous materials are accurately tracked and documented.
  • Enhance SDS management processes to ensure accessibility and compliance with OSHA and GHS standards.
  • Improve HazCom compliance, including hazard labeling, communication, and training programs.
  • Address compressed gas handling and storage deficiencies, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop and deliver role-specific training programs to increase chemical hazard awareness among employees.
  • Collaborate with EHS, maintenance, and operations teams to standardize chemical safety practices.


Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Project Manager and executes tasks as assigned within the scope of chemical and compressed gas management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Safety, or a related field or equivalent work experience in chemical safety, HazCom compliance, or SDS management.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in chemical safety, inventory management, and HazCom compliance.
  • GMP and lab experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and GHS labeling requirements.
  • Proficiency in conducting safety training and fostering cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.


Work Schedule:  70% onsite, 30% remote.

Duration:  12 months.
