EHS Specialist
Pay: $45/hr.
There is a monthly safety meeting and the person would have to present. Must be comfortable with public speaking.
Collaborate with site personnel to ensure a safe work environment
Prompt interaction with Plant Management and HR to address EHS related employee issues
Calculate and report EHS Incident Rate (LTIR, EHSIR & EHSLR)
Lead “BeSafe” observations program
Conduct appropriate EHS audits; interpret EHS audit results and complete corrective actions timely
Develop new EHS concepts, techniques, and standards; ensure alignment of EHS solutions with organizational objectives
Develop and implement workplace injury/illness prevention programs (IIPP) which includes health and safety procedures, incident investigation, and training
Generate and submit all required OSHA and environmental reports
Participate in and lead Employee EHS Committee(s) and site management team; maintain and drive safety culture throughout sites
Complete applications timely for all new EHS permits and renewals; complete and submit all required EHS reports and records timely
Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet new or revised EHS requirements
Coordinate and participate in activities associated with job hazard analysis, industrial hygiene monitoring, hazardous waste identification, collection and disposal, wastewater treatment, spill control and emergency planning, contractor safety, safety engineering reviews, and ergonomic assessments
Conduct root cause investigations and risk assessments; communicate results
Follow regulatory and standard requirements as applicable to the site, i.e., MDSAP, ISO 13485, IVDR, and compliance with the site Quality Manual.

Who You Are
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Safety
OR
• 3-5 years of EHS related experience in the chemical, specialty chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry
Preferred qualifications:
• Certified Safety Professional
• Industrial Hygiene knowledge
