Position: Environmental Health Safety Specialist
Location: Houston, Texas (Not Remote)
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: President
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 annually
Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential safety risks.
- Conduct field safety assessments and operational hazard reviews.
- Develop tailored accident prevention programs to minimize incidents.
Compliance and Training
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Deliver comprehensive safety training to employees and field operators.
- Stay updated on industry safety standards and implement best practices.
Incident Investigation
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents, theft, and policy violations.
- Document findings and collaborate on preventive strategies.
- Liaise with law enforcement and insurance representatives when needed.
Client Collaboration
- Foster strong relationships with clients, understanding their safety requirements.
- Partner with supervisors to align employee activities with client protocols.
- Recommend improvements to client safety practices.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare detailed reports on safety audits, incident investigations, and training sessions.
- Maintain meticulous safety and compliance records.
- Present recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years in safety management within construction, oil and gas, or industrial sectors.
- Background in claims or workers’ compensation management is a plus.
Certifications:
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CLPS (Certified Loss Prevention Specialist) preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
Skills:
- Expertise in OSHA compliance, incident reporting, and risk management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in safety software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Reduction in workplace incidents and near-misses.
- Compliance with 100% of training requirements.
- Positive client feedback on safety performance.
Working Conditions:
- Travel required to field locations.
- Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Ability to conduct physical site inspections.
Additional Duties:
Injury and Claims Management
Act as a liaison for injured employees, facilitating communication with healthcare providers and claims representatives.
Project Coordination
Manage safety initiatives and ensure timely completion of projects in alignment with company goals.
