The Senior Business Partner - People (Sr. HRBP) will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, stakeholders, and the executive team to develop and implement tailored HR strategies that align with DBM Vircon's core values and business goals. This role requires a strong background in global mobility and immigration, as well as knowledge of employment laws across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States.
The Senior Business Partner – People will oversee all recruitment activities and global People initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while fostering a positive employee experience. This individual will also play a critical role in managing employee relations, succession planning, professional development reviews, and providing coaching and mentorship across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Global HR Strategy:
- Develop and implement global HR initiatives aligned with DBM Vircon's core values and business goals.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations in multi-state jurisdictions, the UK, Canada, and New Zealand.
- Partner with senior leadership to tailor HR strategies to support business needs.
Global Mobility and Immigration:
- Manage all aspects of global mobility, including immigration processes, visas, and relocations.
- Provide guidance on international employment practices to ensure compliance and smooth transitions.
Recruitment Oversight:
- Lead and oversee all recruitment activities to attract and retain top talent.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment strategies and ensure a seamless candidate experience.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, addressing and resolving employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and employment legislation.
- Conduct investigations and provide solutions to complex employee concerns.
Professional Development and Succession Planning:
- Manage professional development review processes, including designing questionnaires, rolling out programs, and coaching managers and team members.
- Lead succession planning efforts to identify and develop future leaders within the organization.
- Partner with leadership to create development plans that align with career aspirations and organizational goals.
Full-Cycle Employee Experience:
- Continuously monitor and enhance the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, to ensure a seamless and engaging experience.
- Stay up to date on best practices for onboarding, creating programs that set employees up for success and foster early engagement.
- Regularly assess the employee experience through surveys, feedback, and touchpoints, implementing improvements based on insights.
- Oversee offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews and analyzing trends to inform retention strategies
Coaching and Mentorship:
- Provide coaching and mentorship to managers and employees across various situations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development.
- Train and support managers on leadership skills, performance management, and employee engagement.
HR Policies and Compliance:
- Ensure company policies and procedures are up-to-date, compliant with applicable laws, and effectively communicated across the organization.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.
Change Management:
- Support the organization through change initiatives by creating and delivering communication plans, training, and resources.
- Act as a change champion to ensure smooth transitions during organizational transformations.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Collaborate with internal teams to analyze and recommend competitive compensation and benefits packages.
- Partner with leadership to review and update reward programs to ensure alignment with market trends and employee expectations.
Data Analytics and Reporting:
- Leverage HR metrics and analytics to identify trends, provide insights, and recommend improvements to HR strategies and practices.
- Prepare reports for leadership on key HR performance indicators such as turnover, recruitment metrics, and engagement levels.
Employee Engagement and Culture:
- Promote a positive workplace culture by driving employee engagement initiatives and acting as a steward of DBM Vircon's values.
- Lead programs and events that reinforce a strong and inclusive company culture.
Workforce Planning:
- Collaborate with leadership on workforce planning, identifying current and future talent needs.
- Develop strategies to address talent gaps and ensure the organization is equipped for long-term success.
Work Experience
- Minimum seven years in a Human Resources position.
- At least 3 years in a senior-level HRBP role.
- Experience gained from a multinational organisation.
- Experience managing recruitment, employee relations, succession planning, and professional development processes.
- Proven ability to work with stakeholders, senior leadership, and executive teams to develop and execute HR strategies.
- Strong knowledge of global mobility and immigration processes, as well as employment laws in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and the U.S.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and data analytics.
Education/Training
- University Degree in HR or related field.
Specialized Knowledge – Certificates & Licenses
- PHR or SHRM-CP credentials required.
Software & Technology
- Position will require the frequent use of MS Office applications and HR Information System.
