Job Title: Assay Development Scientist

Position Summary:
Responsible for conducting research in assigned areas under direct supervision using established methodology. Duties & Responsibilities: Plans and conducts moderately complex experiments and analyzes and interprets the results. Keeps accurate records of work undertaken.
Responsibilities :
Support RNA assay development and chemistry by supporting RNA extraction, qPCR, immunoassays, and analytical methods to characterize oligonucleotides
Conduct and troubleshoot experiments, independently and in collaboration with colleagues, to characterize and screen siRNA oligonucleotides
Support siRNA characterization by through routine and consistent performance of 4 or more assays
Support lipid nanoparticle (LNP) development and characterization using dynamic light scattering (DLS), Encapsulation efficiencies (ribogreen fluorescence) and HPLC.
Support routine tasks associated with siRNA solid phase supported synthesis and characterization using LC/MS.
Collect and evaluate data; prepare reports, summaries, and presentations; maintain and update laboratory notebook and the laboratory information management system
Manage inventory of supplies, ordering reagents and consumables
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Science is required
Required Experience:
Laboratory experience is a must
Experience supporting multiple groups, including the Chemistry group
Assay development experience and knowledge
Experience with QPCR (Quantitative PCR)
Preferred Experience (one or more of the following):
Knowledge of therapies and RNAs
RNA extractions
LC/MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) experience
Reviewing concentration readings
Lipid nanoparticle (LNP) experience
Oligonucleotides experience
Experience with Electronic Lab Notebooks
Additional Experience:
Strong organizational skills
Ability to assist with laboratory inventory management
Minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory/technical roles
Proficiency in MS Office
