Position Summary:
Using a hands-on approach, the Safety Coordinator is responsible for facilitating compliance in all aspects of Health and Safety laws and regulations. The Safety officer provides support for the entire organization’s client base on a consultative basis while also supplementing existing programs. In addition, the Safety Officer is directly involved with developing and executing internal policies, procedures, training, and initiatives that drive the company’s preventative

Role and Responsibilities:
Core functions of a PriorityWorkforce Safety Coordinator include but are not limited to:
1. Underwriting of prospective clients
a. Conducting thorough risk assessments, reviewing OSHA 300 logs, experience modification and company safety programs/written policies.
b. Compose walk thru reports and provide feedback to upper management on results.
2. Conducts regular inspections and risk assessments
a. Regularly visit client sites and conduct risk assessments while also evaluating compliance of health and safety laws and regulations. Ensuring all hazards are rectified immediately.
b. Frequently visit sites to monitor and enforce corrective action plans or address need for improved safety standards.
3. Developing corrective action plans
a. Have a thorough understanding of our clients’ industries, production methods, and overall business to determine workable issues and develop strategies for short term and long-term action plans.
b. Develop corrective action plans based on findings gathered during risk assessments and evaluations while remaining sensitive to the client’s business operation. Action plans for both the client and PriorityWorkforce are communicated to all necessary parties.
c. Must remain accountable by consistently following up on corrective action plans as well as ensuring their successful completion by monitoring results.
d. Monitor High-Frequency sites and develop customized programs for improvement
4. Training
a. Conduct safety, schedule meetings, prepare material, and maintain training records.
b. Train internal staff members on various safety topics, site inspections, injury investigations and preventative safety policies and procedures.
5. Developing Safety Programs
a. Participate in the development of safety programs, campaigns, and initiatives.
b. Deploy and execute companywide policies and procedures that enhance, support and continuously improve company safety standards.
c. Evaluate current practices and ensure compliance with all State and Federal OSHA regulations and update as needed.
Requirements:
· A minimum of 1 years in and EHS, OHS, or related role with emphasis on preventative safety.
· Completed courses/certifications in: CAL/OSHA, First Aid/CPR Responder, Forklift train the trainer, preferred
· Understanding and knowledge of Cal OSHA codes and regulations, employee relations, state and federal laws, basic workers compensation and risk management.
· Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook 365, Word, Excel, TempWorks
· High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college coursework is desired.
· Valid driver’s license
