Position Overview: We are seeking for a full-time Housing Rights Attorney to handle all Landlord-Tenant matters for low-income residents of Broward County. This role involves managing all phases of case work, including court proceedings, client and witness interviews, discovery, investigations, negotiations, legal research, and appeals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle all phases of case work, including attendance at court proceedings, client and witness interviews, discovery, investigations, negotiations, legal research, and appeals.
• Identify and address impact issues affecting various segments of the client community.
• Comply with all program and unit forms and directives.
• Complete case reports, funding reports, and grant applications.
• Train and supervise paralegals and legal interns.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising attorney, Director of Advocacy, or Executive Director.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

• Ability to prepare civil law cases, analyze and prepare a variety of legal documents, conduct research on legal problems, and prepare legal opinions.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
• Ability to maintain effective, compassionate communication with clients.
• Ability to serve the general public, co-workers, and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, marital status, political affiliation, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or gender identity and expression.

Special Qualifications:

• Active membership in the Florida State Bar.

Salary and Benefits: This exempt, full-time position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $71,500 to $80,000.
