A Leading Manufacturing Company near Dundee, Michigan needs a Plant Manager. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As Plant Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all operational departments within our metal forming manufacturing facility. Your role will require strong leadership qualities, a focus on maintaining inventory levels, ensuring on-time delivery, upholding safety, quality standards, and managing project execution.
1. Departmental Oversight:
• Manage and lead all operational departments, including production, quality control, die repair, maintenance, scheduling, and logistics.
• Manage and maintain operations culture in alignment with the Company's values
• Develop and implement departmental strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
2. Leadership & Team Development:
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to department heads and their teams.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
3. Inventory Management:
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure timely production and delivery.
• Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and reduce carrying costs.
4. On-Time Delivery:
• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to optimize shipping and delivery processes.
5. Safety and Quality Standards:
• Ensure a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and regulations.
• Uphold and improve product quality standards through regular inspections and process improvements.
6. Project Management:
• Lead and coordinate various projects within the manufacturing facility.
• Ensure projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
7. ISO 9000 Compliance:
• Utilize your ISO 9000 experience to maintain and improve the company's quality management system.
• Prepare for and participate in ISO audits to ensure compliance.
8. Cost Control:
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement cost-effective measures.
• Monitor and manage the plant's budget effectively.
9. Continuous Improvement:
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.
• Identify and implement process enhancements and best practices.
• Lean manufacturing process
10. Reporting and Communication: - Provide regular reports to senior management on plant performance, operational metrics, and project status. - Collaborate with other departments to align goals and expectations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a plant management role within the metal forming manufacturing industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards and experience with quality management systems.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• At least 10 years of manufacturing experience
• Previous ISO-9000 or related experience
• Knowledge of PLEX System
• Management courses or equivalent experience
• Lean Manufacturing
