Job Title: Junior Estimator

Job Summary:

As a Junior Civil Estimator at Sendero Industries, you will support the estimation process for construction projects, assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and bid proposals. Under the guidance of senior estimators, you will analyze project specifications and other documents to develop accurate cost assessments. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in the field of construction estimation while contributing to the success of various projects.

Responsibilities:

1.     Project Estimation:

• Assist in developing accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects
• Support the analysis of project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare comprehensive and competitive bids.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.

2.     Cost Analysis:

• Assist in conducting in-depth cost analysis, considering material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Help evaluate potential risks and uncertainties associated with projects and incorporate contingencies into estimates.
• Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry benchmarks to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.

3.     Bid Preparation:

• Assist in preparing and submitting well-organized and professional bid packages by project requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with the business development team to review bid strategies and ensure alignment with company goals.

4.     Vendor and Subcontractor Relations:

• Support sourcing and negotiating with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Help maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to enhance the company's competitiveness.

5.     Proposal Development:

• Work closely with proposal teams to assist in developing compelling proposals highlighting Sendero Industries strengths and capabilities.
• Ensure that proposals align with project specifications and requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience or internships in construction estimating or related fields is preferred.
• Basic understanding of civil construction processes, including earthwork, drainage, and utilities.
• Familiarity with estimating software, such as AGTEK is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and learning.
