Sr. Civil Project Manager

 

Job Description:

The Senior Civil Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of civil construction projects, with a specific focus on large-scale underground utility construction. This role requires a strong background in civil construction, project management, and a comprehensive understanding of utility infrastructure. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record of successful project delivery with a project value between $10MM-$30MM+.


Key Responsibilities:

1.   Project Planning and Management:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and manage all project activities, ensuring adherence to project milestones and deadlines.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Regularly communicate project status updates to clients, internal teams, and management.

2.   Utility Infrastructure Expertise:

  • Utilize extensive knowledge of utility infrastructure, including water, sewer, stormwater. Cast-in-place concrete experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Oversee the planning and construction of large-scale utility projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop innovative solutions for complex utility challenges.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and develop appropriate remediation plans.

3.   Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary project team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development and training to enhance team members' skills and expertise.

4.   Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities, participating in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in civil construction and project management, with a focus on utility infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing utility infrastructure projects.
