Job Description

A prestigious, midsize law firm is seeking an HR Specialist to join their New York team on a 3/2 hybrid basis. The ideal candidate will have prior law firm experience and have HR, recruiting, and professional development experience - especially in attorney recruiting.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating, posting, and maintaining attorney job openings, utilizing various sourcing strategies to find top tier talent
  • Screening resumes, scheduling interviews, tracking interview processes, preparing offer letters, and conducting reference checks - full cycle legal recruiting process
  • Tracking data with internal recruiting system and reporting recruiting metrics, offering strategy for areas of improvement
  • Creating and maintaining performance evaluations, working with Directors to address any concerns
  • Tracking CLE certification needs and NYS Attorney registration status, assisting in enrolling attorneys in PLI and reminding attorneys of deadlines
  • Managing mentorship assignments and quarterly check-ins
  • Analyzing market data and trends to make adjustments to practices
  • Fostering ongoing attorney relationships, ensuring strong support engagement and trusted advisement


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of recruiting experience, with emphasis on attorney recruiting involvement
  • Proficiency in recruitment software and tools
