The employer is looking for a skilled machinist who is comfortable setting up and operating CNC and manual machines, conducting quality control checks, managing production flow, and maintaining accurate documentation. A background in manufacturing, particularly in machine setup and operations, will be key.
Key Skills:
- Machine Setup & Operation:
- The ability to set up machines quickly and efficiently for production runs.
- Familiarity with tools, fixtures, and the required setup processes to ensure proper functioning during production.
- Production Flow Management:
- Maintaining production schedules and ensuring equipment runs smoothly to meet production targets.
- Handling machine loading and feeding tasks as required for each run.
- Inspection and Quality Control:
- Performing inspections (like first piece or in-process checks) to ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
- Maintaining documentation related to inspections and production, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Recordkeeping & Documentation:
- Accurate tracking of parts produced and updating records in an ERP system.
- Understanding and following manufacturing procedures (like production checklists, work orders, and operator instructions).
- CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Operations:
- The ability to operate CMM machines to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Interpreting and saving data from CMM machines and ensuring the integrity of this data is maintained.
- Technical Recall and Interpretation:
- Being able to recall CMM programs and understand the fixturing required.
- Following specific procedures to manufacture products according to detailed instructions.
Experience Required:
- Manufacturing Experience:
- At least 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with specific expertise in setting up and operating manual and/or CNC machines.
- Alternatively, experience may include internships or part-time roles that show an ability to execute key functions of the job.
- Competency in Machining:
- Demonstrated ability to complete all the Essential Functions listed in the job description, with an emphasis on technical skills, machine handling, and quality control.
