Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (3 - 6 month assignment with the possibility of going full-time).
Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational safety, health, and environment.
- Experience in both Safety and Environmental regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance - Safety Risk Assessments - Ergonomics - EHS Training & Hazardous Waste Management knowledge.
This is a small EH&S site and training will be managed by a Senior EH&S Specialist.
This role will help enhance EH&S programs, integrate EHS into site operations, and will involve collaboration with facilities, R&D, audit support, and other departments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications at the facility.
- Maintain existing EH&S programs and participate in the implementation of new programs.
- Collaborate with managers, trainers, and technicians to identify and control significant environmental, health, and safety impacts on operations.
- Perform daily activities to ensure compliance within the division.
- Participate in the maintenance of the Behavioral-Based Safety program.
- Coordinate and deliver EH&S-related training. Engages in internal and external EH&S compliance audits, self-assessments, and inspections throughout the facilities.
- Support ergonomics and participate in risk reduction initiatives. Conduct hazard assessments.
- Understand and proactively adhere to the Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Procedures. Communicate effectively across the organization and work independently to drive improvements in EH&S programs.
