Job Details Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounting department's operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Coordinate regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations.
- Develop and maintain financial controls and accounting policies to protect assets and mitigate risks.
- Assist in budget and financial forecast preparation; monitor financial performance by analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing variances.
- Direct audits and work with external auditors to ensure proper financial monitoring.
- Oversee cash flow planning, maintain banking relationships, and ensure sufficient cash flow for organizational needs.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, cost management, and performance evaluation.
- Stay updated with evolving accounting and financial regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a Controller role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software, financial systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
