Technical Project Manager 1

This role involves managing technical or operational project tasks, ensuring projects meet technical requirements, and overseeing the entire project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include defining deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks, leading the project team, and ensuring the successful execution of related activities to produce products or services that meet customer needs. The role also involves administrative tasks like managing day-to-day operations, contributing to policy development, monitoring budgets, and providing technical advice.
Role Overview:
- Manages the timely completion of discrete technical or operational project tasks.
- Ensures the project adheres to technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defines project deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks.
- Oversees the project team through planning, tracking, and execution from initiation to completion.
- Projects consist of related activities to produce specific products or services that meet customer requirements.
- Develops work packages to define project goals and work products.
Administrative/Operational Management:
- Assumes responsibility for day-to-day management within a designated program area (either line or staff department).
- Contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of program policies, procedures, and standards.
- Determines program service levels and suggests enhancements. Assists in the development and monitoring of program budgets.
- Provides technical advice to staff and other departments.
Preferred Experience:
- DOE (Department of Energy) and/or NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) experience supporting engineering/construction projects.
- Experience or training in radiation protection or industrial hygiene.
Education & Experience:
Typically requires an AA, BAS, BS degree (or currently pursuing one). A minimum of 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
