**We are currently seeking an experienced SR. DESIGN ENGINEER **


**Please read the entire job description - this is a SENIOR position requiring a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience AND a minimum of 5 years of hydraulic / pneumatic engineering experience**


Under minimal supervision, the Sr. Design Engineer is responsible for partially or wholly designing aerospace valves and components along with testing and qualification (as required) in accordance with customer specifications and ISO 9001 and AS 9100 standards with some general guidance and oversight from more experienced engineers. This position will also act as Project Manager, assisting the client with all technical matters across a basic range of Ausco products (new or established) and will support long term client programs with technical assistance.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Produce detailed proposals to meet customer specifications, in cooperation with the Principal Engineers and/or Chief Engineer
  • Perform various analysis using software such as ANSYS EA and CFD, Mathcad and generate technical reports
  • Coordinate engineering changes with the customer and throughout the company
  • Develop and coordinate acceptance and qualification test campaigns to validate the proposed hydraulic valve
  • Coordinate activities with cross-functional teams to successfully complete project tasks within schedule constraints
  • Anticipate, assess and mitigate project risks and effectively and appropriately communicate to management
  • Assist the Engineering Department with the implementation of design changes and improvements to technical documents and standard procedures
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending continuous education workshops and industry conferences
  • Efficiently prioritize work and competing demands to ensure tasks are completed within specified time and quality requirements
  • Strengthen both internal and external customer relationships. Work to gain and maintain customers trust throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Adhere to aerospace standards, methods and procedures
  • Independently determines approach to assigned tasks with minimal guidance from more experienced engineers.
  • Perform additional duties and ancillary work that is expected from a project engineer


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BE/BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • ABET accreditation preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive engineering experience in a professional engineering and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hydraulic design in aerospace valves, pumps, actuators, pressure vessels, or hydromechanical components
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully completing projects that include product development, product support, validation testing and customer deliverables
  • Effective project management and organizational skills with the ability to facilitate positive and productive project team interactions
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex engineering principles in a common language
  • Good working knowledge of CAD software – SolidWorks preferred.
  • Proficient in using simulation software - ANSYS preferred
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: From $120,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekends as needed
