Job Description: We are seeking a talented and experienced Backup Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backup & recovery and storage solutions, with experience in AWS cloud services and proficiency in managing multiple storage products. The candidate must also possess an active security clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery solutions for on-premises and cloud environments, with a focus on AWS.
• Configure and manage backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies to ensure data protection and compliance.
• Monitor backup jobs, perform regular audits, and troubleshoot issues to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop disaster recovery plans and conduct regular drills to validate recovery procedures.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend enhancements to improve backup and recovery processes and optimize resource utilization.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients on backup-related inquiries and incidents.
• Maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and compliance documentation related to backup and recovery operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in backup administration or engineering roles.
• Strong Red Hat Linux experience and preferably certified RHCSA, RHCE, RHCA otherwise, willing to get the certifications on the job
• Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services, including S3, Glacier, and AWS Backup.
• Experience with a variety of backup and recovery solutions, such as Cohesity, Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, or similar products.
• Familiarity with storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and object storage.
• Active security clearance (Secret) required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or similar credentials preferred.
