Remote in Washington D.C. A globally recognized law firm specializing in high-stakes litigation and arbitration, is seeking an experienced Attorney to join their dynamic Sanctions Practice Area. This role involves managing complex sanctions cases, drafting de-listing petitions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to serve a global client base. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues, clients, and regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Treasury s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
They are seeking a proactive, self-motivated attorney with a strong background in sanctions, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range : $200,000 - $300,000 / year DOE
Attorney Responsibilities: - Manage a caseload of 2 4 sanctions cases per year, working collaboratively with legal teams
- Draft de-listing petitions and other legal documents related to sanctions matters
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and advice
- Communicate and coordinate with OFAC and other regulatory agencies on behalf of clients
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to handle cross-border matters involving global clients, businesses, and government agencies
- Ensure timely and efficient progress on assigned cases, meeting a minimum of 1,800 billable hours per year
Attorney Requirements: - Minimum of 2 years of legal experience working at the U.S. Treasury s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), specifically in the Global Targeting or Licensing offices, within the past 10 years
- Strong expertise in government sanctions and related legal frameworks
- Admitted to practice law in New York or Washington D.C.
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and compelling legal documents
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of driving projects forward independently
- Networking capability is a plus
- Scrappy and resourceful with a team-oriented mindset
- Creative thinker who can adapt to complex, fast-moving challenges
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
