About the Role:
As a Health, Safety, Environmental Intern, you will assist with ensuring the facility is able to host employees safely in full compliance with Federal, State and Local OSHA standards.
Seeking a year round intern available starting in February 2025 on a part-time (20-24 hours) a week. Must be attending school in or around the San Mateo, CA area as this will be an onsite role.
Responsibilities Also Include:
- Carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory survey, HVAC, Electrical and plumbing
- Update and maintain the site “Health, Safety, Security and Environment” operation procedures and oversee their application
- Maintain full compliance to OSHA requirements and California legal requirements for health and safety (including update of the IIPP, emergency procedures)
- Carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and specify corresponding actions as well as the responsibility for implementing it
- Implement and monitor action relating to the handling of any non-compliance revealed by the inspections, internal audits and external audits, taking the necessary investments into account.
- Manage hazardous material storage, inventory and documentation of SDS
- Manage PPE
- Train existing and new employees on these standards
Assist with taking care of all requirements necessary to maintain an acceptable work environment for all employees:
- Maintain Homogeneity of Valeo visual standard in & out of the building (signage, flags)
- Maintain electrical, HVAC, and plumbing assets and request resource reservations by submitting a Work Order to Building Management using the WorkSpace Team portal.
- Take care of special cleaning service arrangements (carpets, windows, patio).
- Clean up and help scrap materials including electronics, packaging, old furniture and equipment.
- Take over for site admin during absence/leave for catering needs / kitchen restocking
- Keep kitchen area clean
- Conduct new hire safety orientation
- Conduct monthly safety inspections per site and division requirements
What You Should Have:
- You are currently enrolled in courses pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
Pay Information: Freshman: $20.80, Sophomore: $22.10; Junior : $23.40; Senior: $24.70
