We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Project Manager with expertise in the Healthcare domain to manage complex IT infrastructure projects. This is a remote position (Austin, TX preferred), and the ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years of IT experience, including managing infrastructure projects in a healthcare setting. The role involves overseeing project schedules, costs, quality, and mitigating risks while driving continuous improvement in project execution.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and manage project plans across schedule, cost, scope, and quality for healthcare IT projects.
- Record and monitor project costs , ensuring actuals align with the budget.
- Understand logical dependencies and critical paths , communicate, and escalate key tasks to team members.
- Proactively identify variances to the project plan , developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Formulate corrective actions when project deliverables deviate from the work plan.
- Identify and document project risks , proactively communicating them throughout the lifecycle.
- Engage with stakeholders, ensuring appropriate levels of communication and escalations as necessary.
- Tailor communication strategies based on the audience, synthesizing information effectively with the team.
- Clearly communicate escalations , including problem statements and project impacts.
- Recommend deviations from standard processes, gaining consensus from stakeholders.
- Understand the financial implications of project decisions and forecast impacts.
- Continuously seek new skills and apply them to improve project deliverables.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 7 to 10 years of IT work experience , including at least 7 years managing IT infrastructure projects in the healthcare domain .
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Related certifications preferred.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Expert level understanding of:
- Waterfall methodology and procedures.
- Managing complex capital/expense budgets , reconciling actuals for internal and external spend.
- Handling multiple vendors and internal teams on complex projects in the healthcare domain.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with business software (e.g. Microsoft Office , Clarity/PPM , MS Project ).
Experience deploying/upgrading IT infrastructure (network circuits, routers, switches, servers, M365 migrations, cloud migrations, etc.) in healthcare environments.
Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects effectively.
Adaptability to changing environments, especially within healthcare IT.
Experience with deploying COTS applications and endpoint deployment automation technologies in healthcare systems.
