Position Reports To: Project Development Manager
Position Purpose
Support construction project sites by ensuring goals related to schedule and budget are met. This role involves managing on-site activities, coordinating with various teams, and addressing technical challenges. Extensive travel is required (out 3 weeks, home 1 week). Projects range from 3 months to 2 years.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist the Site Superintendent in managing subcontractors and personnel.
- Interpret specifications and coordinate construction phases to meet schedule and budget goals.
- Provide expertise in electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, and QA/QC areas; troubleshoot as needed.
- Track and manage schedules, material usage, and inventory.
- Issue purchase orders and oversee procurement and delivery of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Act as the field liaison with project staff to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.
- Inspect subcontractor work to ensure compliance with design, specifications, and safety standards.
- Document and evaluate change orders.
- Prepare progress reports on work, material usage, and costs.
- Address and resolve potential project issues in collaboration with senior management.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of field construction experience preferred, with industrial projects being a plus.
- Experience managing subcontractors, tracking manhours, and other site labor tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project required; Procore, AutoCAD, and P&ID experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Ability to read P&ID’s and engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office.
Additions:
- $56 per diem for meals during travel.
- Company vehicle provided; gas expenses covered.
- Lodging expenses paid by the company.
Physical Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Up to 75% travel required.
- Ability to sit, view screens for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Exposure to varying environmental conditions at construction sites.
