The Quality Assurance Manager, reporting to the Corporate Director of Quality and Plant Manager, ensures consistent production quality by developing and enforcing manufacturing practices, validating processes, providing documentation, and managing the quality team. This role includes leading SQF certification efforts and overseeing ongoing program management. The Manager will also act as a backup for the Quality Assurance Manager during absences.

Key Responsibilities:

• The Quality Assurance Manager must achieve quality objectives through strategic planning, audits, problem resolution, and system improvements.
• Develop quality assurance plans, including hazard analyses, critical control points, preventive measures, and corrective actions.
• Validate processes by defining product specifications, monitoring production, and ensuring operational compliance.
• The Quality Assurance Manager will maintain and improve product quality by conducting audits, investigating customer complaints, and collaborating on new product and process designs.
• Prepare quality documentation and reports, including trend analysis, stability studies, and corrective actions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and participate in educational opportunities.
• The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the implementation and maintenance of food safety plans to meet certification standards and requirements.
• Develop and maintain systems to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, including training, record keeping, and incident management.
• Ensure all food safety and quality training is conducted and maintained.
• The Quality Assurance Manager will serve as SQF Practitioner
• Report on issues related to food packaging, safety and quality.

Qualifications:

• The Quality Assurance Manager must hold a degree
• Must have 5+ years in Quality Systems/Process in leadership roles, in manufacturing packaging or paper converting industry
• Must hold an SQF, and HACCP certifications.
• VSR, preferred
• The Quality Assurance Manager must enhance department and organizational reputation by exploring new opportunities and adding value.
• Oversee human resource functions, including training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management of the quality team.
