Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and design electronic enclosures for use with aero gas turbine engines. This role ensures enclosure designs meet project requirements from concept to qualification testing. You will work on local and global engine programs, contributing at all stages of a project, from conceptual design to final implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform component trade studies for new and existing hardware, create and review functional and physical interfaces, and generate analysis requirements for enclosures.
• Collaborate with electronics engineering teams to develop enclosures that meet both electronic and mechanical requirements.
• Support the creation of detailed drawings and model-based definitions while coordinating with project teams to procure conforming hardware.
• Organize and participate in technical and design reviews, presenting solutions and technical reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with product certification requirements such as RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of design experience, OR
• Master’s degree in Engineering, OR
• Ph.D. in Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electronic enclosures design.
• Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) and analysis tools such as Siemens NX and ANSYS.
• Familiarity with cross-discipline engineering concepts, including manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis.
• Knowledge of aero gas turbine control systems.
• Experience with design processes and component testing.
