Job Title: FPGA/ASIC Design Specialist
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid Working with up to 25% travel to West Lafayette, IN)
Pay Range: $115K - $180K (Relocation Assistance Available)

Introduction: We are seeking an experienced FPGA/ASIC Design Specialist to join our growing team. This exciting role offers an opportunity to contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge technologies used in advanced engine control systems. As part of a dynamic, global, multi-disciplinary team, you will work on some of the most complex and challenging projects in the industry, solving unique technological problems that have a direct impact on aerospace systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Lead the design and development of custom digital devices (ASIC or FPGA) for electronic engine control units.
- Verification: Perform verification of complex products utilizing FPGAs and/or ASICs to DO-254 standards.
- RTL Development: Develop RTL utilizing hardware description languages such as VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
- Timing Closure & Debugging: Achieve timing closure on FPGA designs and debug designs through simulation tools.
- Test & Validation: Validate FPGA hardware in the lab using test equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debug tools (e.g., ILA, JTAG).
- Simulation & Synthesis: Run simulations, perform synthesis, place and route, and evaluate timing constraints, power utilization, and overall process flow.
- Documentation: Produce detailed design documentation, verification plans, and reports for certification authorities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate and test FPGA/ASIC solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR
- Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR
- PhD in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in scripting with languages such as TCL, Python, or Shell scripts.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux development environments.
- Experience with version control tools like Git or SVN.
- Expertise in FPGA tool flows using Actel & Xilinx tools to implement complete designs.
- Proficiency in using hardware testing and debugging equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, ILA, JTAG).
