The Axel Group is seeking an Civil Designer to join our client’s team out of Monmouth County, New Jersey. This multi-disciplinary firm offers comprehensive land development design solutions for corporate, private and government clients in the residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. This firm has a strong reputation for excellence and innovation in the Engineering field and are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join their team.

The ideal candidate will help assist the project manager and/or professional engineer with the design of land development projects. The candidate must gather data from pertinent regulations and available mapping to assist in preparing base maps for each project. The candidate must be able to prepare basic design criteria such as grading, construction details, zoning analyses, and must have a working knowledge of stormwater management designs.

Responsibilities:

• Have a working knowledge of engineering practices, principles, and awareness of applicable regulations, and codes.
• Perform site inspections and attend field meetings.
• Assist project managers/professional engineers with the design of land development projects and structural design of various structures.
• Gather data from pertinent regulations and available mapping to assist in preparing base maps for each project.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D and all MS Office products.
• Prepare basic design criteria such as grading, construction details, zoning analyses, and have a knowledge of stormwater management designs.
• Assist in reviewing site plans applications.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• 0-2 years of site civil/land development design experience, preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, surveying, planning, or other technical professions, required.
• Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
