Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Location: Greensboro, NC

Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract

Shifts: 5x8-Hour shifts, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Position Overview:

The SPT will assist in ensuring the sterilization, decontamination, and preparation of surgical instruments in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in sterile processing, including expertise in instrument tracking, assembly, and wrapping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Decontaminate, assemble, wrap, and prepare case carts for various surgical procedures.
• Track surgical instruments using the Robotics & SPD instrument tracking system.
• Maintain proper sterilization techniques and follow safety protocols.
• Occasionally float to Moses Cone Surgery Center as required.
• Work with surgical teams to ensure the availability of instruments for various procedures, including neuro, ortho spine, open heart, vascular, and pediatric surgeries.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Adhere to all hospital and regulatory policies, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

• Certification : Must hold either HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) or CBSPD certification.
• Experience : A minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing is required.
• EPIC experience is a must.
• Ability to float to any other campus if needed.
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza (medical/religious exemptions accepted).
