Pride Health is hiring a Lab Assistant to support our client’s medical facility in Calabasas Hills, CA . This is a 3+ months assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Duration : 3+ months Contract/ Likely to convert to FT based on performance
Shift : Tuesday - Saturday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Pay rate: $16-$18/hr. on W2/
*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sorting, and receiving specimens in the department.
- Handles serum, whole blood, plasma, and urine samples.
- Handles proper disposal of radioactive and biohazard waste.
- Performs sample management tasks such as volumization, building samples into load lists, labeling of samples, storage, and preparation for disposal.
- Assists in locating missing samples and pulling specimens from freezer storage locations.
- Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.
- Documents all quality assurance activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Medical assistant training is helpful.
Special Requirements:
- Must have the ability to establish work priorities and to handle several tasks for maximum workstation efficiency.
- Must be able to retain information once learned.
- Must interact with other coworkers, internal and external customers with courtesy and respect.
