Human Resources Analyst - 3+ months, temp / temp to hire, Hybrid in San Rafael - $35-$40/hour
Well respected healthcare organization is seeking a detailed and analytical Human Resources Analyst to join a small team dedicated to managing employee leaves of absence and workers compensation programs.
This role requires a highly organized professional with advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and database experience. Workday experience is preferred but not required.
The ideal candidate will have a critical-thinking mindset, professionalism, and the ability to analyze and interpret benefits data.

- Schedule : Full-time, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility within business hours
- Location : Hybrid (3 days onsite) – San Rafael, CA - Near SMART
- Duration : 3-6 months temporary with potential for permanent hire
- Pre-Hire Requirements : Clear criminal background and drug screen per federal guidelines (cannabis included)
Human Resources Analyst Responsibilities:
- Track and compile leaves of absence and workers’ compensation data, ensuring accuracy in employee records. Generate reports for management and perform data analysis using Excel and database tools.
- Identify trends and provide insights to enhance leave management and workers’ compensation processes.
- Coordinate with vendors, including third-party leave administrators, to ensure timely and accurate data exchange and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams to streamline reporting processes and ensure data consistency.
- Assist in analyzing and interpreting leave policies and workers' compensation guidelines to support compliance efforts.
Human Resources Analyst Qualifications:
- 3+ years of HR experience, preferably with knowledge of leaves of absence and workers’ compensation data.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) and experience with HRIS or benefits databases (Workday preferred).
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to analyze complex data sets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with employees, vendors, and leadership.
- Understanding of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, workers' compensation, and other federal/state leave regulations.
