Position Overview
Are you an energetic and passionate professional committed to supporting youth in the juvenile delinquency system and their families? National Counseling Group is seeking a Multisystemic Therapist (MST) to join our Manassas MST Team. This role involves providing evidence-based, community-based treatment to youth involved in criminal activity and their families, blending cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification, and family therapy modalities within the MST model.
As a Multisystemic Therapist, you’ll conduct in-depth family assessments, develop treatment plans, and empower caregivers with the tools needed to address challenges independently. Your work will make a meaningful difference by helping youth navigate family, peer, school, and neighborhood difficulties.
Location: Manassas, VA
Compensation:
Associate Licensed: $46,000 - $47,500
Fully Licensed: $51,000 - $55,000
Piece Rate: $25/session
Compensation is dependent on education, licensure, experience, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities
Perform assessments of family strengths and needs.
Define problematic behaviors and create individualized treatment plans in accordance with MST standards.
Deliver therapy sessions in the family’s home or community setting, using evidence-based approaches such as:
Cognitive behavioral therapy
Behavior modification
Family therapy
Empower parents and caregivers to address difficulties in raising adolescents.
Equip youth with strategies to cope with challenges related to family, school, peers, and their neighborhood.
Collaborate with families to achieve lasting, positive behavior changes.
Caseload and Work Environment
Average caseload of 6 clients
Flexible schedule based on family availability, including school meetings and court hearings.
Sessions conducted primarily in the family’s home or community setting.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Licensure: Must be licensed or license-eligible in Virginia (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Resident in Counseling).
Skills:
Experience with evidence-based therapeutic models.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
