*Job Summary*

As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a crucial role in assisting expectant mothers during childbirth and providing care to newborns. You will work closely with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe deliveries and optimal outcomes for both mother and baby.

*Responsibilities*
* Monitor the health of the mother and fetus during labor
* Assist with pain management techniques and comfort measures
* Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers
* Perform fetal monitoring and assess labor progression
* Assist with medical procedures such as cesarean sections or episiotomies
* Educate new mothers on postpartum care and newborn feeding
* Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care for patients

*Skills*
* Experience in labor and delivery nursing
* Knowledge of coding and medical records documentation
* Ability to work in critical care transport situations
* Familiarity with clinic procedures related to labor and delivery
* Understanding of pediatric care principles
* Experience in a Level I Trauma Center is a plus
* Proficiency in sterile processing and aseptic technique
* Competence in medication administration for laboring women
* The Clinical Nurse (RN) has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing.

*Deal Breaker:*

Minimum 3 years of hospital (acute) experience required

Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing. Associate Degree or BSN accepted.
