This position will work as a member of Tesla's Active Safety Test Team to support vehicle-level testing for Active Safety and Homologation tests. The primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate directly with Active Safety Test Engineers and vehicle engineering teams in executing vehicle-level tests, both in house and at Proving Grounds around the world. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in automotive maintenance and testing.
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with test engineers & technicians in vehicle test execution including, but not limited to, test setup, inspections, diagnosis, part retrofits and driving
• Perform testing to verify compliance with FMVSS and ECE regulations
• Evaluate new vehicle software releases to identify regressions or compliance concerns
• Support various teams within the engineering organization where priorities is required
• General shop maintenance & upkeep
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Time Management: Independently manage your time to successfully complete parallel assignments, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting project deadlines
• Communicate directly to various engineering teams in status updates and problem solving using various methods (e.g. Email, MS Teams, JIRA)

• 5+ years in automotive service industry
• Technical/Automotive ASE (or equivalent) certification
• Advanced diagnosing capabilities on electric/hybrid vehicles, both in low and high voltage, CAN communication, using meters & oscilloscopes
• Use of MS Office tools and other systems to effectively communicate results/failures (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Jira)
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines
• Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required
• Ability to travel up to 30%, both inside the US as well as international
• Basic fabrication use of bandsaws, drill press, mig or tig welder

Expected Compensation
$24.40 - $36.60/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
